Hi !
You can flash the DB600 allmost like a 7020 through the webbrowser.

Tools ?
Putty eor windows telnet
Internett explorer / Firefox

To begin start your new DB600 with the original image or other

Enter the main menu:
MENU-->SETUP-->EXPERTSETUP-->COMMUNICATION SETUP

When you know the IP adress off DB, then log in with telnet or putty.

Here give du following commands :


mount /boot -o remount,rw

and enter

rm /boot/*

and enter

reboot

and enter

Now the box (closes ), meaning it turns to bootmodus.

Now its plain forward
Type in the IP you noted on top here in the webbrowser.
This picture will apear



Now browse to the image you will put on the box, and then press FLASH.

When it is 100% turn off power and back again.

Done

Flashing a DM600

Slightly different to other dreamboxes. You can either use the Dreamup software (takes ages) or use the method below instead.

1. Boot the box, goto the communication menu and note the ip address.

2. Run DCC, connect to the dreambox. Once the network is connected ok, click on the the 'Telnet' option.

3. In the telnet window, type the following, pressing <return> at the end of each line.

mount /boot -o remount,rw
rm /boot/*
reboot

4. You should now get a message saying that the Dreambox is rebooting.

5. Wait a few seconds and then run Explorer (Firefox or whatever) and enter the ip address of the Dreambox in the address bar.

6. On the screen that appears, choose the 'Upgrade firmware' option, find the .nfi file and click the 'Flash' button.

7. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, reboot the box

Well now I tried this howto but the box never gets out of boot modus. I flashed it via web and when I reconnected nothing happend, I tried to connect it to dream up and it said "box is in serial http mode" what is that and how do I get it back to normal?:mad::mad:

you have killed it, so only was now is to flash using null modem cable and dream up, i recommend Pli Jade image, you can get from Pli website.
You can get Dream up from Dream Multimedia, or better still do a search on this forum for them.

I have tried that allready still the same result when I have flashed it with dream up and reboot it both the green and the red LED light up and nothing happens
