Hi all

I'm totally n00b at sat reciever. My entire life, I have had cable-tv, but I have moved to a place where we cant get cable-tv.

For about 6 month I have had Viasat Denmark as my satelite provider, and now I am looking for a new reciever.

I have looked at IPBox 910HD and IPBox 9000.

Will I be able to recieve Viasat Denmark channels with those two reciever?

I have heard that they got new tuners in october 09. Will this be a problem with the current firmwares out there?

Yes it should be posible for ipbox HD to manage a viasat ( NDS ) card , a new Ipbox is on the way to be relased this year .

There are other boxes eg dreambox 8000 , Azbox HD elite / premium and premium + .

All have more ar less the same way to read NDS Cards with emulators : Cccam , mgcam and NewCS .

Hi. Thank for the answer.

The only thing i need it for is to be able to record and watch both Viasat and FTA channels so i think the new ipbox 9900 HD is a bit overkill.

I have heard that ipbox/Dreambox got problems with the new Viasat cards. Is that true or are they supported now?

The boxes are again able to read nds card , alternative is with the smargo + cardreader with NewCS as emu / protocol .

My choice is now between IPBox 9000 HD with 2x DVB-S2 tuners at a price at 3095 dkr or a DreamBox 800 HD at a price at 3495 dkr. The dreambox is only with one tuner.

What should i pick?? :wow:

Dm 800 vs ipbox 9000 .

1) regarding support for box Dm 800 wins

2) regarding attaching devices Ipbox wins

3) regarding picture Ipbox wins

Both boxes have linux inside .

But before you make up your mind , view various comments on both boxes .

Both boxes need a exchange of the official firmware , in order to be able to use NDS cards

My personly choise would be Ipbox becouse the option for CI modules and 2 cardreaders .

tnx again for the answers.

I'll see what i'll decide me for.

Btw. Viasat card with the yellow arrow. Is that supported on the ipbox/dreambox (with other firmware)

Dont know if yellow are older or newer then the blue

Now i just saw that i can get a AzBox Elite HD for 2095 dkr. Should I take that reciever?

The only problem is that it only got 1 tuner so I guess i'm not able to record one program and watch another? And I dont know if it works with Viasat (NDS)

Dreambox DM8000 can do Viasat SD channels with the latest CCCam 2.1.4.
However - no support for HD channels.

Anybody know if someone is working on that in the CCcam team?

Or is there other Cam combinations that can do the trick?

Atm its NOT posible to get the HD channels by emus , I have a Idea that a wireless cardsplitter might do the trick , offcourse the card should be in the official box .
