dreambox darkstar 2 stream on vlc??

hi im new to this forum so nice to meet you all. Reading alot of threads throughout the forum and thanks to every one who contributes. but to my topic............ I have a dreambox 500s im quite new to these boxes so forgive my some what silly sounding questions to some of you guys....i have the nablisat darkstar2 image installed, it seems from alot i have been reading that for the streaming the pli images are recommeneded. i just want to know is it possible of streaming using vlc player with my darkstar image?? i have spent the last 3 or 4 days following alot of tutorials on how to use the vlc player to stream but just cannot get it to work i hopefully one day plan to stream from remote location but i dont want to get ahead of myself just want to manage it on home network first. i am able to stream using a program called tunisa sat but want to know why i cant do it from vlc directly. please share any info, any opinion or helpful theory, will be truly grateful for this- last thing i have tried is based from this forum But again to no avail. Is it really that complicated to set up. thanks guys

Dear thaiguy,

just to be sure and to identify possible problems, try the following.

Go to web interface to your box, it should give you a list of channels and more information on it. Select one channel, and click on VLC button. System will return you a file with m3u extension. Save it and try to open the file with VLC.

Important, your box is not able to stream anything while you're watching on TV.

thanks for reply. yes i go to interface download m3u file but nothing plays?? so your telling me you cant stream if its been used on tv- hows it done then?? i downloaded dreamview and was able to stream away while working on tv too.... but still not directly from vlc although if i took the url in the dreamviev "edit stream data" tap and pasted in vlc it would work on in vlc but cant change channel.. i was looking at another guide which told me use dreamview and almost every part of tutorial worked accept final part which is:
"1. Start dreamView, and select the channel you want to stream.

2. Stream > Output > Server Output = ticked

3. Stream > Output > Start Output

You should now see a poorish quality picture playing in dreamView, and may pause quite a lot, don’t worry. This is normal. If you see a massive orange and white cone, click on the channel again on the left and pause for a few seconds, you may have to do this several times until the picture appears.

Open note pad and type in and save it as a .m3u file eg. Mystream.m3u. Right click it and associate it with VLC player.

Double click on the saved file and it should open VLC player and your stream should appear. You can send this file to your mate for viewing.

I wasnt to sure how to create m3u in notepad so if anyone reads this who knows please give example where i can just change details maybe thanks, I did try this one thing dont know if its ok though: i downloaded a m3u file from the web interface from the vlc tab and then i edited it and put my dydns there but didnt work. hopefully some one can understand this method thanks.
