Files with an .ipk extension (files that are intended for manual install on a dreambox or dbox2) are either compressed in .tar.gz format and have the extension renamed to .ipk or they are ar-wrapped
In the first case all we have to do to decompress the ipk is just to remame it back to .tar.gz and decompress it with winrar.
In the latter case thow the .ipk cannot be decompressed on a windows pc or to be more precise we could not find a standalone tool
that could handle the decompression of these files
With the GSF ipk_extractor just place any ar-wrapped .ipk in the same folder with the executable and run
GSF ipk_extractor.exe
The contents of the .ipk will be extracted in the same folder
GSF ipk_extractor.rar 1.43 MB
