1) Prerequisites

During the installation there has to be CF
card in the Dreambox (attention: insert or remove
into Dreambox 7025 cardreader only when Dreambox
is turned off), or an USB stick which is successfully
detected (in case of problems try an USB Hub).

If Barry Allen on USB is used then put
the CVS Image from OoZooN in Flash, because this image
has the USB drivers permanently built into the kernel.

If neither CF card not USB Stick are attached then
installation takes place on the Harddisk. Because
the images then also run from there it will run
permanently and it could be necessary that you disable
Harddisk Standby in the images to allow running Barry
Allen stable from Harddisk.


2) Installation

First boot from Flash and then copy the file
enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen*.ipk
to /tmp with ftp (TCP/IP must be working already).

If you have an image in Flash that offers a Blue
Pannel Manual Addon Install, then you can use this
functionality to install the ipk file.

If not, then install Barry Allen by entering the

ACHTUNG - bitte den 4.4.11 kit nur installieren wenn Ihr am 800er Support von BA mittesten wollt, für die 7025 ist der nicht wirklich gedacht, auch wenn er dort natürlich auch funktionieren sollte, ich entwickle es ja auf einer :-)

If there are Problems with image extraction or other tasks
with the enigma2 plugin try doing it in telnet:

cd /media/ba
ba.sh extract nameoftheimage

On the next reboot this new Image should be available
in the bootmanager for choosing to boot it and then it
can be customized and used as usual.

The Bootmanager now should remember the last booted
image and hence recordings from Deepstandby should work
now.

Hi !

Nachdem jetzt bis auf den MMC support eigentlich alles vom BA auch auf er 8k geht, wäre es dringend notwendig zu sehen ob wir beim Einbauen nicht was am Support für die anderen Boxen (800/7025)kaputt gemacht haben.

Daher für die mutigen am Anfang des Threads jetzt ein 4.6.6 kit.

Evt. vorher ein backup machen eurer Lieblingsimages auf CF/USB bevor Ihr den installiert - solange nicht genug Leute damit einen update gemacht haben und wir wissen ob das problemlos funktioniert (auf meiner 7025 weis ich das natürlich, weil dort wurde es ja entwickelt) :-)

Falls es noch Probleme auf der 8k gibt die bitte weiter bei Boxman zu posten, diese werden dann ggf. in einen 4.6.7 kit eigearbeitet.

Wally West + BA geht derzeit nur auf 7025 oder 800, aber noch nicht auf der 8000er

Egal, im ersten Post ist jetzt die versprochene 4.6.7 wo WW+BA auch auf der 8* funktionieren sollten (neuesten WW kit verwenden !) wenn man es im Bios entsprechend einstellt und dort zum booten auswählt (automatisch wie auf der 7025 geht mit USB scheinbar noch nicht - bzw. bring ich es ohne eigene box einfach nicht hin trotz hochmitivierter tester - ein kleines Dankeschön ist wieder mal nötig)

Ausserdem kann man jetzt so ähnlich wie den coloromode des bootmanagers bei den BA einstellugen auch die auflösung mit der NACH dem bootmanager weiter gestartet werden soll einstellen (das sollte falls nötig die komische Framebuffer problemem auf der 8* fixen wenn man die box z.B. fix in 1080i stehen hat weil Ihr scaler so gut ist)

Und ein paar andere kleine bugs sind darin gefixed, allerdings nicht eure mystischen bootprobleme mit manchen/selbstgebrannten images, dazu gabs einfach (noch) zu wenig inputs.

Installation

First boot from Flash and then copy the file
enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen*.ipk
to /tmp with ftp (TCP/IP must be working already).

If you have an image in Flash that offers a Blue
Pannel Manual Addon Install, then you can use this
functionality to install the ipk file.

If not, then install Barry Allen by entering the
following commands in a Telnet session:

cd /
ipkg install /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen*.ipk

Then restart enigma2 and the Barry Allen Plugin
shoudl show up under Games / Plugins.

In the Images installed by Barry Allen you don't have
to install the Barry Allen Plugin anymore.
The Barry Allen Plugin integrates himself into then
automatically during the image extract.

And you can remove Barry Allen if you are booted
from Flash:

ipkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen

na gut, ich habe halt mal einen 4.6.18 mit ein paar der neuen Logos gemacht und das usb/cf formatieren noch so angepasst das auch die fstab erweitert wird. Damit kann man wenn man von CF bootet sich den stick komplett mit BA herrichten und umgekehrt.

BA 4.6.24 has now a dynamic device handling. If you install a second USB stick with WW+BA you then can change the sticks, and dpending which one you plugged into teh box it will run with BA or BA+WW without changing the flash image :-)

The same should work on the 7025 - CF with/without WW amd USB with/without WW - depending what you plugin it should boot now in any case.

Making this work also on teh 8c is the over all goal of the whole effort, sorry for teh inconveinience if some things don't work with these intermediate versions. The final 4.6.30 whould be a stable one - promised :-)

PS: I will now replace the 4.6.24 kit because I just received the new Arabic language files from SayyiD - it is still not an official language, but if oyu rename the /media/ba/ax directory to ar you can try it out already :-)

PPS: You can try now with the latest 4.6.24 kit also on the 8k ...

Na gut, nachdem es für die 8k jetzt auch den neuen secondstage loader gibt dürft Ihr halt auch mit der 4.6.25 spielen.

Die hat neben dem neuen loader für die nfi backups auch den ersten offiziellen Support für Arabisch (nur das Plugin, shell script messages sind zwar drinnen aber disabelt weil das von rechts nacht links schreiben im shellscript nicht funktioniert - wenn wer weis wie man das gettext in einem shellscript dazu überlisten kann bitte melden)

Ausserdem wird jetzt auch das automount während der BA installation disabelt.

Damit sollten wenigstens theoretisch auch die komischen 'device not mountet' fehler aufhören während der BA installation in den aktuellen CVS images.

Und USB stick auf der 8k soll jetzt angeblich auch wieder gehen - nur das dynamische wechseln der BA devices falls man sie umsteckt wäre noch ungetestet.

Also testet mal schön - und nicht beklagen wenn noch nicht alles 100%ig geht. Dann meldet halt was + die entsprechenden outputs von der installation dann sehen wir weiter

Hi !

Es gab mal weider ein paar Kleinigkeiten zu tun, daher gibts jetzt eine 4.6.27 (wird Zeit das die 8k zu kaufen ist - sonst werden wir noch dreistellig bei den minor versions bevor die 4.7 kommt):

Griechisch ist jetzt vorbereitet, mal sehen ob LeoGR eine schöne Übersetzung für euch macht.

Ich habe endlich mal wieder eine Euerer Anregungen verwirklicht und den Font des bootmanagers änderbar gemacht - auf /media/ba/bin liegt jetzt ein barryallen.ttf, das man auch austauschen kann. Ihr könnt da einfach andere ttf fonts drüberkopieren (in /usr/share/fonts eines CVS imags sind z.B. ein paar dabei auch der md_khmurabi_10.ttf so wie es früher war).

Wenn wer hübsche Fonts hat nur her damit, ich kann die gerne so wie die BA boot logos auch im Plugin auswählbar machen.

Der Bug das man wenn man keinen PIN eingegeben hat trotzdem nach dem timeout ins Image auswahl menu gekommen ist sollte jetzt auch gefixed sein.

Der Bug das beim instant extract nicht das ausgepackte image sondern das zuletzt gebootete gestartet wurde ist vieleicht auch gefixed.

Danke an FeReNGi fürs finden und reporten - jetzt muss er auch ausprobieren ob es gefixed ist :-)

Und bei WW+BA wird jetzt vieleicht auch auf der 8* das bootlogo des Images gezeigt statt des Flash - bitte testen und berichten.

In der Version 4.6.58 ist jetzt als erster Schritt wie schon lange angekündigt das Laden der USB Treiber rausgeflogen.

Wenn Ihr also von USB booten wollt MÜSST Ihr ein image im Flash haben wo die USB Treiber im kernel fix verbaut sind (es gibt ja genug Auswahl in der Zwischenzeit auch auf der 8000)

Damit werden die DMM Originalimages (auch die experiementellen) NICHT mehr als Flashimage mit BA funktionieren (auch nicht mit WW).

Als kleines Trostpflaster wird jetzt beim installieren das bapostinst gleich beim installieren von BA enabelt und auch defaultmässig verwendet um bei jedem image extract (und auch nach einen neuflashen des Flashimages) gleich die Settings mit aus zu packen sofern im nfi file keine lamedb vorhanden ist.

Falls kein settings backup auf /media/ba/backup besteht wird automatisch eines vom aktuellen image erstellt, existieren dort mehrere wird immer das aktuelllste genommen - insofern sollte es jetzt DAU sicher sein.

1) Prerequisites

During the installation there has to be CF
card in the Dreambox (attention: insert or remove
into Dreambox 7025 cardreader only when Dreambox
is turned off), or an USB stick which is successfully
detected (in case of problems try an USB Hub).

If Barry Allen on USB is used then put
the CVS Image from OoZooN in Flash, because this image
has the USB drivers permanently built into the kernel.

If neither CF card not USB Stick are attached then
installation takes place on the Harddisk. Because
the images then also run from there it will run
permanently and it could be necessary that you disable
Harddisk Standby in the images to allow running Barry
Allen stable from Harddisk.


2) Installation

First boot from Flash and then copy the file
enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen*.ipk
to /tmp with ftp (TCP/IP must be working already).

If you have an image in Flash that offers a Blue
Pannel Manual Addon Install, then you can use this
functionality to install the ipk file.

If not, then install Barry Allen by entering the
following commands in a Telnet session:

cd /
ipkg install /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen*.ipk

Then restart enigma2 and the Barry Allen Plugin
shoudl show up under Games / Plugins.

In the Images installed by Barry Allen you don't have
to install the Barry Allen Plugin anymore.
The Barry Allen Plugin integrates himself into then
automatically during the image extract.

And you can remove Barry Allen if you are booted
from Flash:

ipkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-barryallen

3) Usage

There is now the enigma2 Plugin of Barry Allen included
under Games / Plugins of the enigma2 menu,
which offers the full functionality of Barry Allen.

For extracting of nfi images in Barry Allen copy the
image files to /MB_Images (normally a link to
/media/hdd/MB_Images created during Barry Allen
installation)

If there are Problems with image extraction or other tasks
with the enigma2 plugin try doing it in telnet:

cd /media/ba
ba.sh extract nameoftheimage

On the next reboot this new Image should be available
in the bootmanager for choosing to boot it and then it
can be customized and used as usual.

The Bootmanager now should remember the last booted
image and hence recordings from Deepstandby should work
now.

sind dann die Fälle wie keine interne HDD, nur ext USB HDD oder NAS etc. ...

Wie auch immer stelle ich hier jetzt eine BA 4.8.18 rein, wo der

- Filesystemcheck CF / USB / HDD wieder geht

dabei sind am Ende auch die Netzwerkmounts wieder Einsatzbereit,
also man muss nicht mehr unbedingt Neustarten
Natürlich geht der Filesystemcheck nur vom Flashimage aus.

Falls das überhaupt noch gebraucht wird :

- das Formatieren des CF & USB (BA) devices

und zuletzt das "bainit 110 / 120" : dumpen tut es wieder ...

Getestet habe ich auf 8c und 8k mit OoZooN & Gemini2 4.30.

Die 5.1.39 von BA unterstützt jetzt auch den neuen Bootloader #80 für die 500HD und das neue writenfi ist auch drinnen womit das Sofaflaschen auch wieder funktionieren sollte (allerdings ist das dflash noch nicht integriert um auch vom Flash aus zu Flashen)

Und den enigma2 restart beim Installieren habe ich auch rausgenommen.

OK, ich habe mich entschieden euch einen 6.0.1 Testkit zu machen, weil alleine finde ich nicht raus wie stabil das erstmals ohne Bootmanager auf der 7020hd funktioniert.

Am besten mit OoZooN im Flash testen, weil ich bin nicht sicher ob es ohne initramfs 2.1 όberhaupt funktioniert - aber das findet Ihr schon alles raus :-)

Hi !

Hier geht es mit Barry Allen 6.0 weiter.

Nachdem LowFAT und Dumbo jetzt endlich auch auf der 7020HD gehen, wenden wir uns wie versprochen dem Barry Allen für die 7020HD zu.

Ich habe mich entschieden einen 6.0.3 Testkit von BA für alle Boxen inklusive der 7020HD machen. Es wird jetzt ein spezielles bainit verwendet, das im Prinzip auf allen Boxen mit aktuellem Originalloader von DMM funktioniert, allerdings nur für 2 Wochen zum Testen und um erste Erfahrungen zu sammeln.

Insofern sollte man BA damit schon auf allen Boxen ganz normal upgraden und benutzen können, wobei der 6.0.3 kit primär eben dazu da ist, um erste Erfahrungen mit BA auf der 7020HD zu sammeln, aber es ist auch wichtig das Ihr testet ob er auch auf allen anderen Boxen ordentlich funktioniert.

Also testet mal schön und berichtet ....

Hi !

Hier ist das Changelog für die 6.0.5 Releaste BA Version.

* Das ist jetzt wieder ein Releaster Kit und kein Testkit der nach kurzer Zeit schon abläuft, damit sind aber wie üblich jetzt alle früheren Versionen von BA nicht mehr unterstützt.

* Diese Version läuft NUR mehr mit dem original Loader #84 von DMM (bei der 7025 kann man es daher NUR mehr mit dem Schummel ipk für Loder 84 benutzen das auch hier anhängt)

* Diese Version von BA wurde DRASTISCH entrümpelt - der kit ist dadurch VIEL kleiner und schlanker und trotzdem sollten alle aktuellen Sachen noch funktionieren.

* Was ich erstmals rausgeschmissen habe, weil es schon einige Zeit disabelt ist und keiner mehr danach gefragt hat, ist das shellscript auch in anderen Sprachen laufen zu lassen, das BA Plugin und das BA Webif haben natürlich weiterhin den vollen Sprachsupport.

* Das Multiboot Download Center ist auch endgültig rausgeflogen, nachdem OoZoon seinen ganzen Feed als Webseite anbietet macht das keinen Sinn mehr - RIP.

* bzip2 wurde auch rausgeworfen, weil die MB_*.tar files ja jetzt unkomprimiert gemacht werden, womit es nicht nötig ist das ipk im kit mitzuschleppen, wer bzip2 braucht hat es eh auf dem Softwarefeed der meisten Images.

* Die get lastest BA kit option um zu schauen ob es einen neuen BA kit gibt ist auch rausgeflogen, weil der ist ja auch auf der OoZooN Homepage so wie es im about steht.

* Weil wir im Neues Bootlogo Thread das Problem haben den Barry Allen Schriftzug für ein neues Bootlogo richtig zu positionieren habe ich ALLE Bootlogos raus gemacht bis auf ein schwarzes - so wie in den Kaufhäusern wo die Schaufensterpuppen beim Neudekorieren erstmals in Schwarze Plastiksäcke gesteckt werden. Ich habe sowieso schon überlegt die ganzen Logos und Fonts in ein eigenes Themepack kit für BA auszulagern, bzw. kann ja jeder entsprechende tar.gz oder ipks vom /media/ba/logos und /media/ba/fonts machen.

* man kann jetzt mit disable bootlogo die Bootmanager logos auch ganz disabeln, dann wird als Hintergrund des BA Bootmenus das Bootlogo vom Flash gezeigt.

* Der Bootmanager sollte jetzt auf ALLE /dev/input/event* reagieren, man muss daher nichts mehr umstellen, egal welche Fernbedienung man verwendet (alt/neu/DMM Keyboard). Daher ist auch die Einstellung dafür im Plugin entfernt, weil nicht mehr nötig - RIP.

* Das Umstellen des Farbmodus (RGB, ...) beim bootmenu ist rausgeflogen, bei Anschluss über HDMI braucht man das eh nicht mehr und wenn jemand auf der 7025 ein Problem damit hat kann man es ja auch im Bios umstellen.

* Es gibt jetzt ein Autoswap Feature - sobald man auf /media/ba mit BA ein swapfile erstellt hat (minimale Größe ist jetzt 128MB) wird dieses beim booten in ALLEN images (auch im Flash) automatisch beswapped ganz ohne fstab oder ähnlichem.

* Bei allen Boxen ausser der 7025 wird das enigma2 Restart beim auspacken/sichern von Images bei der installation disabelt, enigma2 läuft also durch - genau deswegen wird aber jetzt beim Backupen auch nach dem Swapfile verlangt.

* Als 'kleine Hilfe' für die neuen Images ohne fixes Harddisk mounten habe ich eingebaut dass wenn man ein neues BA image das ERSTE mal bootet wenn da noch keine Settings drinnen sind dann wird das /dev/sda1 (was meistens die Harddisk ist) im BA Image auf /media/hdd gemountet damit man während dem Settup Wizzard beim ersten boot die Settings von dort restoren kann. Sobald settings im image sind wird dies aber NICHT mehr getan, was aber wenn man das mounten der Harddisk in den Settings sauber abgespeichert hat ja kein Problem mehr sein sollte.

* Filessystemcheck des BA devices wird jetzt wenn man vom Flash gebootet ist gemacht wenn man in telnet bainit 90 eingibt, wobei alle Zahlen > 89 das bewirken um weitere Verwirrung zu vermeiden.

* verwendet man KEIN OoZooN Image (oder ein anderes Image wo die Loop device Treiber fix im Kernel sind) im Flash oder instralliert es nicht auf einer 7025 dann MUSS man das kernel-module-loop ipk im Flash Image nachinstallieren, sonst wird BA NICHT funktionieren !!!
