hard drive issue

just set my dreambox 600 up everything is running sweet, but i have one question switched of box for night and i can still hear hard drive spinning every so offen is this normal and it turns off after so long or do i need to set it up to shut down properly

on mine i keep my finger on the of button on the remote then choose shutdown then it says you are ok to trun of dreambox
