Howto add a new image with 0-modem cabel, communictionsport (comport) on Pc, and the program Dreamup
Download the program DreamUp here or
Download the image you want for your dreambox
Now you need a Nullmodem cabel, connected to Pc and the DB. Make surre it is a 0-modemcabel, and NOT a common serial cabel to be used for this operation. The cabel have 9 pins and with female in both ends of the cable.
Before you start the program , disconnect the power to your dreambox
Start the program "dreamUp"
Uncheck ?
use network?
Here choose com port. Null modem cabel.
Serial: Dont enter any IP settings if have unchecked
?use network?
It is NOT recomended to use networrk here, but only comport connection.
If you want to use network it up this way .
Network: Local IP(PC)must be the correct adresse. IP adress to the PC to be used with Remote IP ( dreambox) Here write a IP adresse eg. IP PC 192.168.0.101 IP DreamBOx 192.168.0.102
Now connect the power to the dreambox
Turn on the power to the Dreambox.
When the power is on and the program trye to connect .
Contact recieved and you can click on Flash to choose the image you want to upload to the Dreambox.
Here you choose the image, you downloaded to Pc. and you want to upload to dreambox
Then the uploading from PC to the dreamboks with 0-modem and
your com port starts .
Her you see the dreambox gets a new image, and all other is erased.
Dont do anything on your pc or dreamboks, while the procces is going on, this take time, but you can follow the procces on the blue line, and some messages appear.
Deleting old and Flashing a new image .
Here is the end message, and the new image is in the dreambox.
It should write ?
result 0?.
Now there is only 1 thing to be fixed , before all is done .
It is recommented allway to manuell Flash Erase durring startuo , after a new image is flashed .
When you see the displayet komme as shown , then you press arrow up and keep it presses,untill the message ?Flash Erase? shows in thedisplay.
Now let go of the arrow up , and the Dreambox delete leftovers from old firmware in the memory.
