1. Put DM600 in standby
2. Copy the attached files (buildimage, build-nfi-image.sh, mkfs.jffs2) to /usr/bin
3. Chmod 755 all files
To create a .nfi Image of your DM600 to hdd
Start a telnet session to DM600 and type:
build-nfi-image.sh /media/hdd
Sample of Telnet window
dm600pvr found
***
download secondstage-dm600pvr-53.bin
create boot.jffs2
create root.jffs2
create secondstage
create dm600pvr nfi-image
nfi-image create on /media/hdd/backup_image_dm600pvr20071007.nfi
***
The backup is ready (time ca 2-3 minuttes)
NFI-Backup.rar ()

hi thanks alot
Hi. Tried the backup script, but it did not work for me. I have asked this also on a linux-oriented forum, but got no answers or hints.
I do not have a fysical harddisk, but an nfs share mounted under /media/hdd. As far as i can see it's mounted ok, see listing below
drwxrwxrwx 3 nobody nogroup 4096 Dec 25 14:56 .
drwxrwxrwx 6 1000 1000 4096 Dec 25 11:50 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nogroup 4096 Dec 25 14:56 bi (this is created when trying the script)
-----to start with an empty dir :
------start script:
dm600pvr found
***
download secondstage-dm600pvr-54.bin
create boot.jffs2
---------here the script hangs. In a second telnet session did this :
drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 0 Jan 1 1970 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 80 Dec 25 15:19 ..
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Jan 1 1970 bin
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jan 1 1970 boot
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jan 1 1970 dev
-----and so on
Remember that /media/hdd is a mounted nfs share, so from my server i retrieved this :
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 2 65534 65534 4096 2008-12-25 15:09 ./
drwxrwxrwx 3 65534 65534 4096 2008-12-25 15:09 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 65534 65534 0 2008-12-25 15:09 boot.jffs2
So een empty file boot.jffs2 is created, and that's it. The script output stops after 'create boot.jffs2', so my guess is that the problem resides in this line:
$MKFS --root=/tmp/bi/boot --faketime --output=$DIRECTORY/bi/boot.jffs2 $OPTIONS
I do not quite understand what's happening here, so for now I don't know how to go on.

Might work : if /media/hdd is changed to a shortcut to you mount , or maby SuperCoco have a better sollution for you ( on the linux stuff )
